Charles Louis Eugène Signoret is the son of Pierre Nicolas Signoret, a piano teacher, and Rosalie Anne Chupin1.A student of Gabriel Ferrier, Jean Paul Laurens and Jules Lefebvre, he exhibited at the Salon from 1894 to 19142 and became a member of the Société des Artistes Français.Married Léonie Célestine Dubois in 1897, with painter Albert André as witness3.Honorable mention in 1898, he went on to win the Prix Raigecourt-Goyon in 1910, a silver medal in 1914, the Prix Marie-Bashkirtseff (four prizes were awarded after the First World War, also to Marthe Jouanne-Hugonet, Nelson Dias and Olga Slom4) and the gold medal in 1920.
He died at his home on Avenue des Ternes on September 15, 1932, aged 65.
