la Sibilla persica after Domenico Zampieri, known as Domenichino, born on October 21, 1581 in Bologna, died on April 15, 1641 (aged 59) in Naples, is an Italian painter of the baroque movement.
This mid 18th century painting is a copy of the painting in the Wallace Collection .
Domenichino painted a number of variations of this subject variously titled including ‘Cumaean Sibyl’ in the Musei Capitolini, in Rome and ‘Persian Sibyl’.
This painting has been restored in our own workshop !
